I appreciate this perspective. Even other minority groups that have dedicated months don't use the label "pride"--it's "Black/Women's History Month", etc. A minority identity isn't an achievement to be proud of as much as it is an area to learn about. I think there would be dialogue and understanding around LGBTQ+ issues if we reframed the discussion from encouraging pride, which is naturally abrasive, to encouraging education.
